How Can We Engineer For Strength?

I was challenged to design and build a bridge in my How Can We Engineer for Strength? quest. I created this lightweight bridge out of wood. I applied everything that I learned about including compression and tension forces, Newton’s Law of motion and gravity, and the physics into making it one of the strongest bridges. The most successful part of the bridge was the foundation. And the hardest part of this project was creating the bend of the arch on my bridge. It took a lot of holding, waiting, and glue for it to stay in place. My bridge was about 42cm long and it held up to almost 50lbs of weight before it broke apart.
