Urban Nature

In printmaking class this past year I explored a range of printmaking processes, including monotype, collograph and intaglio (drypoint and etching). Monotype offers spontaneity, collographs explore texture and materials, while drypoint and etching focus on precision of detail and composition. For this particular project I worked with one of my drawings in creating the block for my prints. I am constantly drawn to nature, feeling a deep connection to its beauty, yet my life is woven into the pulse of an urban city. The contrast between the landscape and the cityscape creates a unique balance within me. This piece represents the pull between the organic rhythm of nature juxtaposed with the intense energy of urban life.
